The Maine Lymphedema Network Joins the Beth C. Wright Cancer
Resource Center
We are pleased to announce that we have joined the Beth C. Wright
Cancer Resource Center (BCWCRC) in Ellsworth Maine. The BCWCRC has
been home, physically and in sprit to the MLN. We share a similar
mission of education and support of patients. As the lymphedema
committee for the Board of the BCWCRC, our work can continue in
consort with the center.
The MLN has been a pioneer in the remarkable social, political and
medical progress made in the lymphedema field in Maine. This
organization has served as an essential catalyst for unprecedented
growth in public awareness, and in the evolution of the informed
medical consumer and the empowered patient.
Since it’s founding in 1999, MLN has carried out its education,
outreach and advocacy mission through comprehensive and innovative
programs. The organization has been widely recognized for its Manual
Lymphatic Drainage Certification program, it’s lecture series and
it’s availability as a resource for patients in Maine.
Although the MLN’s mission is not yet fully accomplished, much has
been achieved. Where challenges remain, we are confident that
collaborative community efforts will succeed. All of us at the MLN
thank you for your support, encouragement and commitment. It has
been an honor and a privilege to work with you in our independent
non-profit status and we look forward in continuing to work with you
to provide this valuable resource as a committee of the BCWCRC.
Thank you,
The Board of Directors

Volunteers
Wanted
Volunteers are very special people. In the near future, we plan on
activating support groups statewide, broadening our programs, and
organizing more fundraisers. We need your help to do this. Currently
volunteers are needed to help with the Myrna Weed Walk and a silent
auction to be held at the end of the summer. If you are interested
in volunteering with the MLN, please contact us at 207-667-9662,
1-866-326-8855, or by e-mail at
